Hey there ladies! I just wanted to give a quick recap of our successful event last week.
I had so much fun and I hope others there did as well!
We all met at Andra's house and everyone brought something they had made. When it was time to eat it, all of us dug in! We had some great dishes and I found several new recipes that I will have to try!
(Jessi so kindly added a page to this blog of all the recipes that were there and that way we can continue to add to it! We can have our own version of the Sisterscafe blog!)
After we ate we had an amazing discussion about all of our favorite conference talks.
Ah-Mazing
This ranged from this past conference to a couple years back and I know that all of us felt the spirit there.
Side Note:
Earlier that day I was STRUGGLING at work and had no motivation to do anything! I was so looking forward to my date with all the girls that night- seriously- it was just what I needed! It was good to hear everyone's testimonies and to be uplifted in different ways by everyone that was there. How amazing it is to me that a bunch of women can get together and share testimony, rather than gossip; to help us see our individual worth, rather than making each other feel insecure by who they are. I feel like Lara and I were directed by the spirit to create this group so each of us can draw that much needed strength from each other.
We had some newbies come visit us!! Yay! Bliss (Jessi's friend) and Camilla and Wendy (two women from Lara's ward- Wendy is Lara's bishops wife and it was so great to have her insight at our meeting! She brought such a spirit that once she was done speaking we all just wanted it to end there because she said things so eloquently!)
We have decided that we are going to go to the temple as a group every other month- so our next outing is on November 20th- Probably the 5:00 session or so. We want our husbands to be able to join us at those temple gatherings if they can! But please know that we would love to still have you if your hubster can't make it! Lara is going to send out one or two conference talks that we will need to read over before we go and we will have a discussion before we go into the temple! :)
We set a couple goals that we would like to focus on for the next while:
1) Invite everyone! Invite people to be apart of this group, even if you live in a different state! (cough cough, Mariah!) I think it would be so cool if Mariah were to get a group of women from her ward down there in California to do the same things we are doing up here!! Well, that is my vision anyways... :)
2) We voted and decided that we want all of us to accomplish one value experience each month (per person)- it is not that hard, we just have to be dedicated. And then PLEASE blog about your experiences- unless it is a personal spiritual experience you have- then it is fine to keep that to yourself! :)
If you have don't have a P-Squared girl near you, be sure to have your husband's sign you off as you do this!!
I think that was it... I just want all of you to know that I love you! This group is so exciting to me- it has added a new uumph in life! :)
Love you all and let me know if there is anything I can do for you!!!
Elise
