From the moment Chelsea first introduced herself to the other girls by telling them of her Alien babies and how fertile she is, I knew that it was going to be a good night! Chelsea, Janna, Lara, and myself all came together at Noodles & Co. for our first P-Squared dinner. Over dinner we were all able to get to know each other and strengthen our friendships to a new level.
I thought it was so interesting how each of us come from different backgrounds, have married very different guys in some aspects, but that we all could help each other through different trials we are all going through- spiritual, academic, with work, at home, etc.
All of us at some point had talked about how we recognize that as we are doing the right things in our lives, God will provide for us. I know this so well- I am so grateful for my job, my husband, our living situation, just everything! I know it's because I have been trying to live right... I am not perfect, I know that and God knows that, but He sees my effort and He rewards us as we are doing what he wants!
Last night we had scripture study with Dave and Lara and we read 1 Ne. 17:3 and this verse stuck out to me so much- "And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them." It tied in 100% to what we were all talking about earlier that evening. It really is true, that if we do what we are supposed to, God will strengthen us and nourish us. So wonderful!
We got talking about how Satan tries to lie to us every second he can get. He lies to us by telling us we are not beautiful, he lies to us by telling us that a little sin is no big deal, he lies to us by saying that being a sexy, strong, powerful women is what it's all about. He is always behind us ready to pounce! Chelsea had an idea for 48 hours to count how many times Satan lied to the four of us. (I didn't even make it into my car when I caught the first lie! How dare he!) We were all getting so excited about doing this little challenge and for a moment I sat back, viewed our surroundings, viewed what us four girls were talking about, and the spirit flooded me. I sat there so grateful that us girls are trying to do something about how to battle satan. We were getting our guards up and we were ready to fight. Right after I experienced that, I told the girls that we need to get as many girls as possible to do Personal Progress with us. This is something that every girl in today's world can use. It helps us become non-complacent, helps us focus on more sprirtual things in the world, it helps us become who God wants us to become as Women.
I am so so glad that we got together. I know the four of us needed that- not because all of us are struggling, but just because we needed that huge spiritual boost that can sometimes only come from sharing your testimonies with some of your closest friends.
To end the night, we sat in the parking lot of the Distribution Center and talked about how Janna's body is changing because she is pregnant. Just a great end to a great night! :) We made it full swing- from Chelsea's Alien babies to Janna's real baby, I think we talked about pretty much everything!
Can't wait for next month- Temple time with the ladies! :)
