Destined to prove a Disturber and an Annoyer of his kingdom

Individual Worth: Value #1

You are a daughter of Heavenly Father, who knows you and loves you. Read Psalm 8:4–6; Jeremiah 1:5; John 13:34; Doctrine and Covenants 18:10; Abraham 3:22–23; and Joseph Smith—History 1:1–20. Write in your journal how these scriptures teach you that Heavenly Father knows you, loves you, and is mindful of you.

Each one of these scriptures taught me so much about my destiny and importance to God's work.  Some of the things that stuck out to me was:
  • We are crowned with glory and honour
  • All things are under our feet (material things- we have power to overcome our material weaknesses)
  • God blessed and sanctified each one of us to be who we are today
  • He commands us to Love one Another, but how much more important it is to Love ourselves first and then it will be easier to love others
  • The worth of our souls is SO great in God's sight- (I think he feels 100x more love for us than we do for our husbands and future children! Just kind of puts things into perspective!).  It is incredible to think about that, and we need to remember that.
  • We are noble and great and ruler's over evil- Satan lies to us all the time! I talked about how a couple weeks ago after dinner we decided that we would count how many times Satan lied to us. I'm sure it was around 20 times that I consciously thought about it, but then there were probably dozens of more times that he just snuck his gross sneaky selves into my thoughts and I believed what he was telling me.
  • The one that stuck out to me the most was reading through the Joseph Smith History again- I can't even remember the last time I did that and there is so much power in that story! I remember awhile back that there was a time that I felt that Satan had grabbed ahold of me so tightly and was just trying to pull me down.  I was so scared, confused, and lost in this moment.  I was with Andy and he could see my turmoil so he knelt down and said a prayer in my behalf.  Ladies! Prayer works! God is there! He listens to us! It was no more than 1 second after the prayer ended that the most powerful spirit filled the room. Andy whispered to me, "Our Heavenly Father and Jesus are here with you now".  It was so amazing to feel that peace and quiet feeling in that room. The line that stuck out to me in the story was,
    • "It seems as though the adversary was aware, at a very early period of my life, that I was destined to prove a disturber and an annoyer of his kingdom; else why should the powers of darkness combine against me? Why the opposition and persecution that arose against me, almost in my infancy?"
Satan is aware of us and our potential and he knows that we are out to be a disturber and an annoyer of his kingdom.  It makes sense! Why else would he work so hard on us to bring us down?!

I know that our Heavenly Father is aware of each of us.  I have felt His presence so many times in my life- His presence as though He is wrapping His loving, fatherly arms around me and comforting me in my time of need. I know that I have worth (Although I tend to let Satan over rule this knowledge far more than I believe it).  Ladies- If we truly understood where we came from, why we are here and what we are fighting for each and every day, we wouldn't even have to think twice about what Satan is trying to feed our minds.  I know that as we do this program, we will each draw closer to our Savior and our Heavenly Father.

Love you all so much!!

    1. I just read Joseph Smith's account the other day and that same thing stood out to me "Destined to prove a Disturber and an Annoyer of his kingdom!" I know I've read that a million times, but it hit me SO strong! I love that a 14 year old boy understood his potential and his great work to do on this earth. I am SO thankful he continued to be an "annoyer" to Satan's kingdom!
